Catching up with our summer

There are so many things we have done this summer that I need to catch up on. Like our actual FATHER'S DAY celebration.

WELL.......I had this wonderful idea to have the kids make placemats............

Luckily the paint was completely washable....................

The end result of the placemat was worth it, after I figured out how to successfully beat the clear contact paper at it's own game and show it who was boss. It was a little wrinkly, but it works.......

Then I decided to try my hand at BBQ lobster and Chicken. To my surprise, the lobster turned out amazingly tender!

We celebrated with two dads, Mr. Sweetie and Dad Mathews. (We had celebrated a week earlier with Dad Gurney and Sweetie's family)

Bumbles enjoyed wearing his food.......(so much for the bath he had a little bit earlier)

and I made a card for my dad, (and Mr. Sweetie's dad too)



BUT most of all I hope our dads know and felt and how special they are to us! We enjoy SO much living so close to family and sharing our lives with them. We are rich with so many blessings. The main one being our families. Mr. Sweetie and I feel so blessed to be able to have a family and be a family together. We learn everyday. We aren't perfect, but we are perfect for each other, and enjoy making and remembering the wonderful memories we have as a family.

Yes, we are pregnant again! Woo Hoo!!!!

On June 13th, the day we had gotten back from the farm, I was unpacking, (something which seems to become a regular chore with the summer time farm visits, but hey I'm getting faster at it)...........I had a fleeting thought which said, "You didn't get your monthly friend this weekend". I got excited to think that I could be pregnant. Then I thought, well if I do take "the test" I will be disappointed if I'm not. BUT my internal body clock had been on the same calendar day for 3 months straight! Not getting the 'visitor' on that day had to be a clue!

After getting the BIG pink "second" line a minute later, even before the 5 minutes were up on the test device, I was about to jump out of my socks. I immediately wanted to tell my sweetie, but this new information seemed to get the better of me................. I now knew something that would change our lives for the rest of our lives, plus Father's Day was the following week and that would be too perfect to tell my love muffin then.

I waited all of about 20 minutes to tell him. I heard him coming down the hall, so I quickly grabbed the "dead rabbit", and put it behind my back. He could tell something was up, so I pulled the test strip from behind my back and said Happy Father's Day! He looked at me, as if to say, "Really?", and then gave me a big smile and then a big hug. He seemed in shock that it could be really true. Then he said 'Wow'.

We were talking about having an April baby, but now we will be having a February baby. The due date is Feb. 16th. We are super excited!

Our first doctor's appointment was reassuring, we had an ultrasound because of the recent miscarriage back in Feb. of this year. We heard the heartbeat and everything is fine. Except for the darn gestational diabetes. I was hoping to have it skip this pregnancy, but no luck.
The upside to the gest. diabetes is that I have a new diet plan, and it worked when I was carrying Bumbles!

So this is my excuse for not posting for a while, the morning sickness kicked my bum this pregnancy, so every chance I had to do a post I was taking a nap, or went to be early. Now that I am 12 weeks, I am a new woman! I even helped my husband roll the hay bails so they could be easily loaded onto the hauler this last trip to the farm. However, I did take a nap afterward, for a few minutes before Bumbles woke up from his nap. It was invigorating!

And I still feel great! Just in case you were wondering. :)
