Welcome to my backdoor blog. A few months ago I had the thought to start my own blog. (In addition to my family blog on easysite.com.) One where I could announce to the world my pregnancy and share my thoughts, feelings and things I learn and have learned along the way.
I am excited to announce I am 8 weeks pregnant and have my first prenatal appointment on Feb. 10th. We decided not to tell to many people yet, until after the first doctor appointment. At the moment only close family know (our parents and siblings). We announced to our parents and to Taryn by putting a t-shirt on Mr. Bumbles, that says 'Big Brother' in small letters, for the subtle approach.
But no one got it.......Missy Moo thought when she saw it, "That is cute, for when he does become a big brother." I had to spell it out to her, "Mr. Bumbles will soon be a big brother", and then she got it.
Then came my parents.....we asked them to babysit for us while we went to the temple. When they got to our home we were all ready to go. Mr. Bumbles had his "Big Brother" shirt on and was walking around the room. My mom even said the words on the shirt out loud, but didn't say anything further. So Mr. Sweetie and I sat on the couch and chatted with them a little while. I didn't know what to do. Mr. Sweetie and I kept looking at each other hoping they would say something. Then after about 20 - 25 minutes, I finally said, "So do you like Mr. Bumbles' shirt?" And my mom said, "Is it true?" We answered in the affirmative and my mom said, "Well, you don't waste any time do you!" I thought that was odd, is she happy, sad, surprised, indifferent? I thought to myself, we've been trying for three months now, it has taken a lot longer than it did to get pregnant with Mr. Bumbles. What do you mean not wasteing any time.......
Well, we still had Mr. Sweetie's parents to tell, but I was still hopefull we would get someone to notice. My mother in law invited us over for dinner the night before she went into the hospital to have double knee replacements put in. Which was perfect because we didn't have to out of the blue ask if we could just come over. They might suspect something from the getgo.
At any rate, we walked into their home and Mr. Sweetie's sister Ginger, (who lives in the apartment in the basement) said the words, 'big brother' as she looked at Mr. Bumbles' shirt. I thought for sure she would say something, but to no avail, we would wait. We had dinner and dessert and still nothing. Then Mr. Sweetie's dad had to leave for a home teaching appointment, after he left Mr. Sweetie's mom and sister were just talking with us in the kitchen, as Mr. Sweetie was holding Mr. Bumbles and Ginger finally said, 'So does that mean anything, refering to Bumbles' shirt, as she looked at me. I nodded my head with a big smile and said yes. Ginger gave me a big hug and my mother in law started to cry and asked me if I felt ok and if I wanted to sit down and then gave me a big hug. It was such a sweet moment, I will remember it forever.
After an hour or so, Mr. Sweetie's dad got back home and Mr. Sweetie said, "Dad, I want you to look at Bumbles and see if you notice anything different." So he looked really hard and said he couldn't see anything different. Then he looked at Bumbles' shirt and said in a low mumbly voice, 'big brother', 'little brother', 'OH!!!' He got a big smile on his face and said congratulations, are you feeling ok, and gave me a big hug.
I am really excited to be having another baby. Mr. Sweetie is too. It will be really fun to see bumbles change from baby to big boy overnight. The due date from my LMP is 9/9/09. I hope this date stays the same after the ultrasound. That would be a really fun birthday. Mr. Sweetie thinks it would even be newspaper material. I would just be glad to have a beautiful, healthy baby.
